To be honest, I found the title of this book to be a touch misleading, and indeed selling itself a little short; conversion rate optimization is really only one part of what is in fact a generally pretty holistic book summarizing most aspects of ecommerce and digital marketing, and it is fair to say that professional Anthony is offering so much more of his expertise than the term credits him with. Whilst aimed at most levels of online business presence, the book is in reality best suited to those with little or no experience in the field of web-based marketing, and is arguably for newcomers, because its content is really a broad cross-section of all the fundamental areas, without delving into any particular depth – not even in respect of conversion rates. Don’t get me wrong, this is actually in the reader’s interest for a couple of reasons: firstly, it may be broad and concise, but as far as summary beginner guides go it is actually a very good one, and secondly because it gives a tremendously informative and articulate introduction, with some very good learning points. As myself a small business owner of a web-based startup, I am already long since familiar with most of what Anthony has shared, yet still I found myself jotting down some pretty useful tips I hadn’t previously considered, or neglected to enforce with any real relish; in that sense it is a very motivational reference book. In summary, I have quite a confident hunch that most like me, any more than a couple of years into their business journey will feel the same. It is fair to say, though, that for any reader, the way Anthony has encapsulated all of his advice into one book is very helpful, and I would have considered it an undoubtedly welcome resource in the early days.
For all the above reasons, I highly recommend Grow 10x With C.R.O. as a permanent inclusion with your office bookshelf, and that you make it your business to learn and absorb its advice. Sure, perhaps the title doesn’t do it justice, and perhaps it is concise and introductory, without exploring too profoundly – it certainly shouldn’t be your only go-to in respect of its subject matter – but it is a very good, easily accessible curation of digital marketing tips and disciplines. It is far from the only book of its kind, but it is incredibly useful by the simple fact that Anthony has made it such a reader-friendly experience for every level, simply indexed and competently explained. Certainly handy to own, by a startup online business in any category.
