But it isn't as easy as you might think to professionally outline and summarize 100k words into 600-800! That's where we come in. If I've already read your book, I'll happily put together a synopsis for you, summarizing the book's theme, genre, main plot points, story arc and primary characters.
I can't guarantee results, or that your book will be accepted, but you can be assured you'll have a professional concise synopsis to add to your toolkit.

A high-quality, extremely popular professional critique and beta-reading service, combining the expertise of an editor with a strong focus on the reader experience.
For £129 I will read your book in full and return a long, comprehensive report advising of any discrepancies and recommendations relating to the story arc, plot, narrative, presentation, character development, credibility, continuity and anything else I feel is of note, whilst constructively suggesting elaboration and enhancement of positive aspects. There will also be significant detail relating to the grammatical condition of your manuscript. The report will be compiled very much with the reader experience at its focus, and I will adhere to your instructions for feedback if there are particular aspects of your book you would like me to pay attention to.
COVER BLURB SERVICE - £10

Need a little help creating your cover blurb/listing description? If your book has received one of my reading services, I'll be more than happy to write one for you.
The 150-200 word blurb will be relevant, eye-catching and clearly summarize your book's theme, genre and premise for the reader, whether fiction or non-fiction. All you then need to do is paste it into your cover designer program.
- Paid reviews will always be read before free submissions, and always in order of receipt of submission.
- Sending me your book is NO GUARANTEE that I will read and/or review it, unless as part of a premium review or other paid service. In the absence of paid reviews on My Bookshelf, I will read in no particular order, and will pick whichever submission takes my fancy next.
- If selecting the Premium Review service, your submission will not be considered guaranteed until I have received confirmation of your payment to MJV Services by Paypal or Stripe.
- I reserve the right to refuse any service requests for any reason - in these cases, if relevant, your payment will be immediately refunded in full.
- IN NO OTHER CASES (INCLUDING AN UNFAVOURABLE REVIEW) ARE PAYMENTS REFUNDED - this applies even if you choose not to allow the review to be posted.
- MY REVIEWS ARE ALWAYS HONEST. I DO NOT OFFER FAVOURABLE REVIEWS IN EXCHANGE FOR MONEY!
- Unfortunately, it has become necessary for me to cap word counts accepted at 110,000, which includes premium reviews and paid critiques. The form will not allow you to submit longer counts - please be honest when filling in the word count field, or your book may be discarded and, if paid, your money refunded. If your book is longer than 110,000 words, for PREMIUM REVIEWS please separate the book into parts, clearly labelled "Part 1... Part 2... etc." and instruct and pay for each separately; for CRITIQUE AND BETA-READING longer than 110k please get in touch and I'll consider your request - additional charges may apply in this case.
- I use Paypal and Stripe to process payments. Please note that, in the instance of refund, they may impose fees over which I have no control, and which can change according to their policies; I recommend that you visit their respective websites to find out more. Please note that I do not charge any fees for cancelled or refunded submissions, and cannot be held responsible for any charges, costs or risks incurred as a result of using these third-party payment processors.
- No discount codes issued can ever be used retrospectively, unless specifically stated by myself.
- At present, there is no discount code facility on the Upgrade Your Review form, nor plans to include one. If you would like to use a discount code when upgrading a previously submitted free review, please resubmit your book.
- I reserve the right to deactivate or change the value of discount codes at any time, for any reason, without notice, though discounts already used will obviously not be revoked retrospectively.
- On very rare occasions, I may find it necessary to pause premium submissions/paid services for a couple of weeks while I catch up. If your review is important and in a hurry, please don't hesitate to contact me and I will happily consider exceptions. If you use loopholes or workarounds to submit for the premium service during this time, please bear in mind that I am likely to refund these submissions, and cannot be responsible for any refund fees incurred by Stripe or Paypal as a result of doing so. Please note that pausing the service is very unusual, and will be in place for as minimal a number of weeks as is possible.
- Unfortunately I am unable to post Customer Reviews on Amazon; my reviews should be added to your book's Amazon listing as an Editorial Review, by posting it in your Author Central area.
- If your book is unpublished, or as yet a cover is unable to be sourced online, I may generate a basic stock cover for the purposes of publishing your review on my blog and social media accounts. I will happily replace this when requested.
- MY REVIEWS ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE, AND I DON'T WISH TO DEBATE YOUR BOOK - IF YOU CAN'T TAKE AN HONEST OR UNFAVOURABLE REVIEW, PLEASE RECONSIDER BEFORE REQUESTING ONE.
